Georgian parliament approves Irakli Kobakhidze as PM

The Georgian parliament has approved Irakli Kobakhidze as the country’s prime minister by a majority vote. The vote was broadcast live on the website of Georgia’s supreme legislative body.
On Thursday, at a plenary session of the Georgian parliament of the 11th convocation, in which the Georgian Dream party has a majority, Georgian lawmakers approved the renewed composition of the government headed by Kobakhidze, as well as the government program. The vote of confidence in the government became necessary after the new parliament was elected. The elections were held on October 26, and on November 25, the vote of confidence in the newly elected MPs took place.
