CSTO was not supposed to fight for Yerevan in Karabakh – Vladimir Putin

Armenia’s current attitude towards the CSTO is dictated by internal political problems and the specific topic of Karabakh, Russian President Vladimir Putin told journalists in Astana.

He added that the events related to Karabakh had nothing to do with the CSTO and the Organization was not supposed to fight for Yerevan in Karabakh as there was no external aggression against Armenia.

“Armenia has not yet announced its withdrawal from the CSTO and supports all the documents of the summit of the organization and I assume Armenia will return to full-format work in the CSTO,” Vladimir Putin said.
