Union of Armenians of Romania surpasses electoral threshold in country’s parliament

The Union of Armenians of Romania, according to preliminary results, secured 4,748 votes in the parliamentary elections held in Romania on December 1, surpassing the electoral threshold required for organizations representing national minorities.

As a result of the elections, the Union of Armenians of Romania will retain its single mandate in the newly elected parliament, with the list’s leader, Varujan Pambuccian, continuing as its representative.

Varujan Pambuccian is the vice president of the Union of Armenians of Romania and has been the organization’s member since the 1996 parliamentary elections. This will be his eighth term representing the Armenian community in the country’s parliament.
