Aliyev says Armenia should start negotiations with ‘Western Azerbaijan’ community

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has stated that the so-called “Western Azerbaijani” community has repeatedly called on the Armenian government for dialogue, but the other side has refused.

According to Aliyev, Armenia should start negotiations and take practical steps to restore the fundamental rights of the “Western Azerbaijani” community.

“Moreover, Armenia should allow the visit of UNESCO’s fact-finding mission to observe the situation related to the destruction and distortion of the historical and cultural heritage of our people and should cooperate in this field,” Aliyev said.
