It is obvious that we are dealing with reconnaissance equipment, Turkologist Varuzhan Geghamyan told Alpha News, referring to the mysterious incident in Ranchpar.

On December 12, the National Security Service of Armenia reported about a possible attempt to illegally cross the state border between Armenia and Turkey in the Ranchpar village of the Ararat region.

“There has been extensive activity of Turkish UAVs along the Armenian borders recently. Over the past year, we have seen an unprecedented increase in the use of Turkish drones in various areas on the western border of Armenia. This has not happened before. Obviously, we are dealing with reconnaissance equipment. They are probably filming something, checking something. This, of course, is another big cause for concern. When we compare this with the sabotage attempt known to us at the moment, this becomes a sign for us to be vigilant.

If such cases are repeated and some random people start crossing the Armenian-Turkish border, we can clearly say that we are talking about checking the Armenian-Turkish border. Let’s not forget that in June 2022, the Republic of Turkey, through Minister Cavusoglu, stated that they were preparing a set of agreements and were also discussing the demarcation of the Armenian-Turkish border. I do not rule out that in fact, certain work is underway in this direction,” Varuzhan Geghamyan noted.
