CSTO Secretary General comments on Armenia-US strategic partnership document

To assess the nature and prospects of the strategic partnership between Armenia and the United States, it is necessary to study the respective documents, said Imangali Tasmagambetov, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

At the same time, he emphasized that establishing a partnership with Washington is Armenia’s sovereign right within developing bilateral relations.

“However, it is important for both sides in this case to proceed from the principle of equal and indivisible security; in other words, this partnership should not create security threats for other states and international associations,” the CSTO Secretary General said.

Today at 10 p.m. Yerevan time, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will sign a document on strategic partnership between Armenia and the United States in Washington.
