Armenia’s reaction to Russian journalist’s statements about ‘Zangezur corridor’ causes bewilderment – Maria Zakharova

Armenia’s overly emotional negative reaction to the journalist’s statements about the so-called “Zangezur corridor” aired on Russian TV show “causes bewilderment”, as Yerevan is well aware of Moscow’s official position, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a press briefing on Thursday.

“Frankly speaking, this reaction causes bewilderment because those are the journalist’s statements. Firstly, we have always heard from Yerevan that Armenia is committed to freedom of speech, and all the more so, the current Armenian leadership has made this its imperative. And secondly, our official position—not a point of view, but the official position of the state—is well known to Yerevan. We have repeatedly voiced its essence,” she said.
