Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has once again talked about his ambitions regarding Armenia’s sovereign territories, saying it should be possible to get from Azerbaijan to Nakhichevan without any obstacles and inspections.
“Both internationally and in our bilateral contacts with Armenia, we constantly emphasize one issue: there must be unimpeded passage from Azerbaijan to Azerbaijan. We have not forgotten and will not forget Zangezur. I reiterate that we have no territorial claims against Armenia, but it must fulfill its obligations by providing unimpeded passage from Azerbaijan to Azerbaijan,” Aliyev said during a meeting on transport issues.
According to Azerbaijani media, Aliyev said that allegedly in November 1920 the Soviet government “seized Western Zangezur and committed a crime against the Azerbaijani people.”
