Aleksandra Grigoryan takes bronze at 2025 IWF World Junior Weightlifting Championships

The Armenian national team won its first medal at the 2025 IWF World Junior Weightlifting Championships held in Lima, Peru.

Aleksandra Grigoryan claimed the bronze medal in the women’s 55 kg category.

The 19-year-old weightlifter placed fifth in the snatch but excelled in the clean and jerk, earning a small gold medal with a lift of 116 kg. On her third attempt, she successfully lifted the declared weight, securing the bronze medal with a total of 204 kg (88 kg in the snatch and 116 kg in the clean and jerk).

Grigoryan currently holds the world record in the clean and jerk, having lifted 120 kg last year.
