Tensions persist around Armenia’s Syunik region – Russian Defense Minister

Moscow is interested in a peace agreement between Yerevan and Baku, Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov said at a meeting of the CSTO Defense Ministers Council in Bishkek.

“Tensions persist around Armenia’s Syunik region,” Belousov said, noting Moscow’s interest in Baku and Yerevan signing the peace agreement.

He added that Russia stands ready to assist in every possible way to ensure the agreement’s successful signing.
