St. Catherine’s Armenian Church of St. Petersburg celebrates Feast of Ascension

On May 29, the St. Catherine’s Armenian Church in St. Petersburg celebrated the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord. Under the church’s vaulted ceilings, clergy and parishioners gathered to offer prayers to Jesus Christ.

Under the leadership of Priest Efrem Zargarian, the spiritual pastor of the Armenians of St. Petersburg, Priest Ghevond Temkin led the Holy Liturgy. Father Ghevond spoke about the significance of the feast and noted that the Ascension of the Savior is the manifestation of His divine glory.

On the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, the Armenian Church also celebrates the relocation of the Catholicosate of All Armenians from the city of Sis to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
