Domingo Hindoyan named new music director of LA Opera

LA Opera has appointed Venezuelan-Swiss conductor and violinist Domingo Hindoyan as its music director. He will succeed James Conlon, who is set to step down at the end of the 2026 season.
Hindoyan’s five-year contract begins July 1, 2026, and runs through the end of the 2031 season.
In addition to this role, the musician will continue serving as Chief Conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
