Russia is concerned that for more than two hours Russian diplomats in Baku have been unable to contact journalists who are Russian citizens, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told TASS.
“We are concerned that for more than two hours, Russian diplomats in Baku cannot contact journalists—Russian citizens,” she said.
Zakharova emphasized that consular staff from the Russian Embassy are being denied access to the journalists. “Information about the reasons for such actions is not given. We are worried about our journalists,” she added.
Earlier, RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan said that staff members of Sputnik Azerbaijan news agency had not been in contact following reports of law enforcement operations at the editorial office.
