Law is applied differently to those who speak about legality and defense of homeland — Mkrtich Davtyan

The law is applied to differently to citizens who speak about legality, defense of the homeland and inviolability of the person, Mkrtich Davtyan stated at the press conference of lawyers addressing the repression of ARF members.

“For example, according to Point 7 of Part 1 of Article 43 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, from the moment of detention, any person must have a lawyer. After seven individuals were detained, four hours passed, no defense counsel was involved and they were simply released. The next day I came to the investigative department of the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district as Taron Manukyan’s defense counsel. The deputy head told me, ‘Submit your application to the office, we will consider it.’ What right do they have to consider a legal requirement?” the lawyer said.
