‘Our political team will propose a new path for the country’s development’: Narek Karapetyan

Narek Karapetyan, nephew of philanthropist and businessman Samvel Karapetyan and Vice President of the Tashir Group of Companies, announced during a Facebook Live broadcast that their political team will present a new path for Armenia’s development.

“Apart from Yerevan, most districts are experiencing population decline, we also have no institutions or establishments for long-term development. There is no alternative to industrialization in Armenia. The main issue of our country is jobs. Our political team will propose a new path for the country’s development, a region will be chosen and an industrial development program will be created based on it. We will begin with Vanadzor,” Karapetyan noted.

According to him, only three large factories have been built in Vanadzor over the past 30 years.

“After the collapse of the Soviet Union, our industrial potential was destroyed, and in recent years, efforts have focused not on restoring it, but merely on providing employment through small service enterprises. Vanadzor’s population will continue to decline if there are no factories in the city. The only way to revitalize the economy and increase the population in the districts is to build factories,” Karapetyan added.
