Artsakh Armenians demand exhumation

A group of Artsakh Armenians recently submitted a letter to the government, demanding the exhumation of their family members who were killed during the September 2023 war and buried in Artsakh and the transfer of their remains to Armenia.

“They assured us that the letter would definitely reach the relevant authorities. After hearing our concerns, they promised to present our demands to Mr. Pashinyan and the officials handling this issue,” said Bella Galstyan in an interview with journalists outside the government building.

Her brother, Sasun Avanesyan, was killed on September 19 during the war initiated by Azerbaijan, which was followed by the forced displacement of the Armenian population of Artsakh.
