Iran’s concerns are natural – Oleg Blokhin on President Pezeshkian’s remarks about Trump Route
Speaking with Alpha News, military expert Oleg Blokhin commented on Iran’s position regarding the agreements between Armenia, Azerbaijan and the United States on communications through Syunik.
Following his visit to Yerevan, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian posted on X: “Our concerns about the presence of third forces on our common border must be dispelled.”
“Regarding the Iranian president’s concerns about the ‘Trump corridor’, one can say that, in principle, any country would be concerned because another section of its border would be saturated with the presence of unfriendly countries. That is, it already has a problematic section with Azerbaijan, which is openly friendly with Israel and can create problems for Iran at any moment,” the expert noted.
According to Oleg Blokhin, Iran’s concerns about the “Trump Route” are entirely justified and predictable.
“Moreover, there is this corridor, where, as I understand it, the United States will also be present. It is clear that any state would at least express concern, if not raise serious alarm. If something like this is arranged on a significant section of the border of some state, concerns are inevitable. I do not know what arguments or persuasion could calm the Iranian president—his reaction is entirely natural and predictable,” Blokhin concluded.
