The ARF Armenian Committee of Lebanon has sent letters to the ambassadors of OSCE member states. Alpha News spoke with Vahram Emmiyan, the chairman of the committee, about the topic.
He mentioned that two ambassadors confirmed they had received the letter and promised to forward it to their respective governments.
“We sent the letter to a total of 24 ambassadors. We reminded OSCE member states of one clause in the trilateral declaration: the parties must take additional steps toward peace. But how can peace be established if there are territories in Armenia that have been seized by Azerbaijan?” Emmiyan said.
When asked what Armenia stands to gain from the dissolution of the Minsk Group, Emmiyan stated that this was one of Azerbaijan’s preconditions, and the only beneficiary is Azerbaijan.
“If the parties decide to dissolve the OSCE Minsk Group, that does not mean the Artsakh issue is closed. Regardless of the decision, the Artsakh issue will remain,” he emphasized.
