Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk stated that trade between Russia and Armenia has significantly declined, with expectations that by the end of the year, volumes will have dropped by nearly half. According to him, while last year the trade turnover reached $12.4 billion, this year it will be around six billion, possibly slightly more. Overchuk emphasized that this trend is concerning but also noted positive developments in the political sphere.
In particular, he expressed cautious optimism regarding the preliminary peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, calling it an important contribution to strengthening stability and peace across the broader Eurasian region.
