Samvel Karapetyan’s Defense Council has posted his 11th message to supporters on Facebook.
“Work for all. Prosperity for all.
A typical scene in Armenia depicting government inaction. It is the middle of the workday in a small town or village. Able-bodied and energetic Armenian men gather in the yard, forced to pass time with a game of backgammon. Filled with despair, they can only reminisce about their past achievements. People are practically deprived of the ability to even dream of a better life.
The only party responsible for today’s reality is the government, which fails to create decent opportunities for our people, discourages them, and undermines their faith in a prosperous future.
Despite these extremely difficult conditions, I can confidently state that we are capable of very quickly providing the necessary and concrete solutions to ensure the prosperity of our people.
Armenia imports approximately $4 billion more in goods than it exports each year. This means our country has significant potential for industrial development and the creation of profitable investment projects—especially to provide decent jobs for residents of the regions.
We can attract major international investors with their production capacities in record time, stimulate local businesses through targeted government support programs, rather than by ‘taking a share’ or trying to ‘seize the business.’
Agricultural reforms must be real and grounded: companies purchasing crops from villagers should face strong competition, enabling farmers to earn real profits and secure their families’ well-being.
Our agricultural products can become excellent raw materials for developing the food industry. Within a few years, globally renowned companies should be represented in Armenia and launch operations in our country, which will ensure a qualitatively new growth in tourism and create new conditions.
I am convinced that these and other economic programs will rapidly improve the quality of life for our people. Eventually, emigration will stop, and there will be decent work for everyone. We will do it our way,” the message reads.
