Azerbaijan FM and US State Department official discuss peace process with Armenia

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a meeting with Brendan Hanrahan, Senior Bureau Official for the US Department of State European and Eurasian Affairs.

During the negotiations, the parties reviewed key aspects of Azerbaijan-US cooperation, including the Memorandum of Understanding aimed at establishing a Strategic Working Group to prepare a Charter of Strategic Partnership. They also discussed the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as broader regional and global security issues.

Special attention was given to the outcomes of the August visit to Washington, where important agreements were reached to advance the peace agenda. In particular, the discussion focused on the initialing of a peace agreement and the dismantling of structures inherited from the previous conflict.
