Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Moscow consistently supports the swift normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey. According to her, this is a key element in establishing lasting peace in the region.
Russia remains ready to continue facilitating this process, including through the regional “3+3” platform. Zakharova emphasized that any agreements reached between Yerevan and Ankara must take into account the real circumstances and interests of all South Caucasus countries.
On September 13, Turkey’s special representative Serdar Kılıç visited Armenia, where he met with Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ruben Rubinyan at the Margara border checkpoint. The two discussed the implementation of agreements reached on July 1, 2022, regarding border crossing procedures. Later, Kılıç held talks with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. The first meeting between the special representatives took place on January 14, 2022, in Moscow.
