Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, stated during his speech at the 6th Caspian Business Forum held in New York, titled “Along the Middle Corridor: Connectivity, Finance, and Energy,” that the United States is participating in the construction of the so-called “Zangezur corridor” in Armenia.
“Work is underway on a 42-kilometer section of the ‘Zangezur corridor’ located within Armenia. Our partners from the United States are involved in this effort. The third segment covers Nakhichevan. Additional investments are being made there as well, and we invite other international partners to cooperate, including European countries. The main goal is to transform the South Caucasus into a space of collaboration,” he added.
According to Hajiyev, “Since 2020, the railway project from Baku to Zangilan and the border with Armenia has been underway, and it is expected to be completed by mid-2026.”
