Azerbaijan has been promoting territorial claims for 30 years – Iranian expert

Iranian expert on the Caucasus region, Ehsan Movahedian, shared a video on X, claiming that a school in Azerbaijan showed children a map depicting the country’s borders extending into neighboring states—Iran, Georgia, and Russia.

“For three decades, schools in the Republic of Azerbaijan have been promoting territorial claims against Iran in various forms, and this process continues. Such practices are observed in both official and unofficial institutions. It appears that Aliyev hopes to one day reap the benefits of this propaganda with support from Israel,” the expert said.

The map shown in the video illustrates Azerbaijan’s borders expanding into northwestern Iran, as well as incorporating parts of Georgia and Russia.
