Karekin II discusses protection of Artsakh Armenians’ rights with Artsakh officials

Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II received government officials and representatives of political forces of Artsakh at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, reports the press office of the Mother See.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the challenges faced by Artsakh Armenians who have been deprived of their homeland, as well as the protection of their rights.

In this context, they also mentioned social support programs implemented by the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the spiritual work carried out with Artsakh Armenians in their places of residence. His Holiness emphasized that the Armenian Apostolic Church will continue its efforts in this direction.

The attendees underscored the importance of taking coordinated and consistent steps on international platforms to protect the rights of the people of Artsakh, secure the release of hostages and prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan, locate missing persons, and preserve Artsakh’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
