Arman Tatoyan, former Human Rights Defender of Armenia, has announced the launch of a new political initiative called Wings of Unity and his decision to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
“I have been asked for a long time why I haven’t taken on a more active role in political life. Now the time has come when it has become inevitable. I can no longer be purely professional about political life that does not serve Armenia’s interests.
I will try to direct all my efforts and those of my teammates to the defense of the people and the state, including through the ‘Wings of Unity’ political initiative, which stems from my desire to support the people and unite all our efforts. ‘Wings of Unity’ means that we must be each other’s wings and support, lift one another up, and foster unity and solidarity among the Armenian people both in Armenia and the Diaspora,” Arman Tatoyan said.
He emphasized that their symbol is a winged bull, whose wings bear the seven values that guide them.
“The bull symbolizes strength, diligence, consistency, perseverance, patience, and victory. Under these symbols, we will move forward. I want to tell you: today’s defeat is not the end of the story. What we need now is a story of how to rise with dignity from a state of defeat and recover, how to become a united country once again. After division, we need solidarity and unity.
Instead of the past, we need the future—we need a clear future that is not based on the desire to mask past mistakes or prove that we were good. That is precisely why we need unity. Our children and we must not carry the burden of the past, but we must be taught by it, learn from it, and prevent the repetition of its mistakes,” the leader of the initiative said.
