Armenia ready to join North-South Corridor via Chabahar

Armenia has confirmed its readiness to participate in the development of the International North-South Transport Corridor through the port of Chabahar.

Armenian Ambassador to Iran Grigor Hakobyan met with Mohammad Saeed Arbabi, CEO of the Chabahar Free Zone Organization. During the talks, the two sides discussed prospects for expanding economic and transit cooperation.

Hakobyan emphasized Armenia’s interest in actively engaging in the project and utilizing the Chabahar port for cargo transportation, highlighting the importance of infrastructure investment in strengthening bilateral ties.

Mohammad Saeed Arbabi noted that construction of the Khash-Chabahar railway is expected to be completed by 2026, which will make the port a key transit hub in the region.
