Russia’s proposal to provide a platform for the signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan remains in effect, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said during a reception marking Armenia’s Independence Day.

“Our proposal to provide a platform for the signing of a final peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan remains in effect,” Galuzin said.

He emphasized that Russia places great importance on the normalization of relations between the two countries.

“It is clear that much work remains to be done to implement our plans. We are ready to provide Yerevan and Baku with all necessary assistance to overcome the remaining differences, including within the framework of the trilateral statements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan,” he said.

Galuzin underscored Russia’s significant and effective role in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
