‘Armenian episodes’ in doc series about Martin Scorsese

The documentary series Mr. Scorsese about the life and career of famous filmmaker Martin Scorsese has been released on Apple TV.

In one of the episodes, Scorsese shared memories of his friend and mentor, Armenian-American professor Haig Manoukian. He described their relationship as “the most precious gift he had ever received.”

In the final episode of the series, Leonardo DiCaprio spoke about how Scorsese is engaged in restoring masterpieces of world cinema. In particular, thanks to Scorsese and his foundation, Sergei Parajanov’s film The Color of Pomegranates—about the outstanding Armenian poet and ashugh Sayat-Nova—was restored in 2014.
