There are two options for the future management of the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a government briefing.

“The first option is for ‘ENA’ to become state property and be transferred to the management of an accredited company. The second option is privatization by a company with prestigious international management experience.

For me, the first option is preferable, but since payments are required in that case as well, much now depends on what objective price will be set for ‘ENA.’ If this price is acceptable for the state budget, I would prefer that it become 100% state-owned and be transferred to the management of a professional accredited company.

If it turns out that for some reason this is impossible, we will choose the second option. But our plan A is the first one, that is, for the Republic of Armenia to be the owner,” he said.
