Investigative Committee closes case against Vardan Ghukasyan – charges found unsubstantiated

Public criminal prosecution against Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan under two articles will be terminated, lawyer Aramais Hayrapetyan announced.

“In the criminal case investigated by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, a decision has been made to terminate public criminal prosecution against Vardan Ghukasyan under Part 2 of Article 422 of the Armenian Criminal Code on the grounds that the alleged act was not committed,” the lawyer said.

Hayrapetyan further noted that the same decision also ruled against initiating public criminal prosecution under Point 2 of Part 2 of Article 329 of the Armenian Criminal Code—again on the grounds that the alleged act was not committed.
