“We have no state, no prime minister, our people have been deceived—what kind of New Year can there be?” expressed residents of the Syunik region when asked about the holiday mood.

People emphasized that after the 44-day war in Artsakh, no one feels the New Year mood anymore.

“Even our pensions are not enough for medicine. How can we talk about celebrating the New Year?” said one respondent.

Of course, not all citizens are so pessimistic. Some noted that they will celebrate the New Year because there are small children at home.

“At least for them, these days should be turned into a holiday,” stressed respondents.
