By order of Armenia’s Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan, Arman Baghdasaryan, First-Class Justice Adviser and Deputy Head of the Department for Investigation of Crimes against the State, Fundamentals of the Constitutional Order, and Public Security, has been relieved of his duties.

Baghdasaryan served as the prosecutor in the case against Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan, Primate of the Shirak Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church. In September of last year, he requested that the clergyman be sentenced to two years and six months in prison for calls to seize power. Baghdasaryan was dismissed from his position at his own request.
