Statements by US President Donald Trump regarding Iran remain contradictory. On one hand, he emphasizes readiness to start a war with Tehran, while on the other hand, he declares that the Iranian authorities are prepared to engage in negotiations.

Speaking with Alpha News, expert on Iran Pouya Hosseini described this diplomatic crossfire as “Trump’s policy.”

According to the expert, Trump uses the same method in different regions: first, maximum pressure through sharp statements and threats, and then, when faced with resistance, he retreats.

“We saw this in his remarks about Greenland, and during the 12-day war with Iran. Today Trump is trying to use the same tactic, exerting maximum pressure, but if he encounters serious resistance, he will most likely retreat again,” Hosseini emphasized.

At the same time, the situation remains extremely tense. According to the expert, US military-political forces are concentrated around Iran, and the course of events may be unpredictable. Iran’s foreign minister has already stated that Tehran is ready both for negotiations and for war.
