Speaking with Alpha News, political scientist Vasily Koltashov commented on the situation around Iran. According to the expert, Americans understand that their threats are taken seriously by Iran, and the response being prepared is equally serious.

“The US has not yet accepted that what they consider a revolutionary wave in Iran has subsided. They believe that by increasing pressure at Iran’s borders, they can convince the urban groups of society dissatisfied with the current situation to hope for change with American help and rejoin the struggle. An attack on Iran in this situation is risky, because past strikes by Israel against Iran led to the consolidation of society against Western aggression.

It is unknown how the majority of the Iranian people would behave if the US strikes Iran. And, by the way, Iran will respond. It could respond, for example, by sinking one or two aircraft carriers, sinking several destroyers with missile weapons, or seriously damaging such ships. Americans could die at bases, and the bases themselves could be destroyed. That is precisely why, in fact, Americans withdrew their troops: they understand that this time their threats are taken seriously by Iran, and the response being prepared is also serious. Iran will no longer limit itself to demonstrations,” Koltashov said.
