Armenia does not believe the country should withdraw from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan said during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
“Regarding the EAEU and the Customs Union, we do not think we should leave. We believe we can find a solution together that will be beneficial for both sides,” he said.
Speaking about Armenia’s participation in the CSTO, Simonyan noted that “Armenia still has questions regarding the organization that remained unanswered.”
“We have questions that remain unanswered, despite being raised many times,” he added.
According to the Speaker, Armenia is not trying to act against Russia, and such a perception does not exist in Yerevan and never will. “I do not want there to be an impression here in Russia that Armenia is somehow trying to act against Russia, against our friendly allied state… I want to assure you that we do not and will not have such a perception,” Simonyan said.
