Russia continues to be Armenia’s primary trade and economic partner, and Moscow intends to further strengthen this cooperation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during a meeting with the Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly, Alen Simonyan.
“Starting in 2015 with a gross domestic product of $10.5 billion, and today it is $26 billion. It has grown 2.5 times—that is simply a fact. Moscow remains your main trade and economic partner, and we take this role seriously. We are eager to expand this cooperation and advance major infrastructure projects,” Lavrov said.
According to him, Russia is ready to promote new initiatives, taking into account the experience already gained and reflected in Armenia’s economic structures.
