Aivazovsky’s landscape to be auctioned in Moscow for 60 million rubles

The landscape “Moonlit Night in Crimea” by the outstanding Armenian marine painter Hovhannes Aivazovsky will be put up for auction in Moscow for 60 million rubles, the Moscow Auction House press service told RIA Novosti.

“The highlight of the collection, experts say, is the landscape ‘Moonlit Night in Crimea’ painted by Ivan Aivazovsky in 1861.

The canvas, measuring over half a meter and bearing the artist’s autograph, is estimated at 60 million rubles,” the statement reads.
