These people have lied so much that no one believes them, political strategist Karen Kocharyan said, when commenting on the reports about Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his wife Anna Hakobyan’s divorce.

“The people have a saying: ‘When a liar’s house catches fire, no one believes it.’ This is clearly a political technology, and it will be discussed, but where it will lead I cannot say. Such tactics have been used in the world, but divorce before elections always brings a negative reaction. People tend to think: if someone cannot keep their own family together, how can they lead a country?” Kocharyan noted.

Referring to the topic of partial pension increases, the political strategist emphasized: “It is nothing new that Nikol Pashinyan says one thing in the morning and another at lunch. However, I think the reason for raising pensions is that the team looked at sociological survey data, according to which his loyal voter base—in this case, pensioners—had become disappointed in him. I assume this is the reason.”
