Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the Strong Armenia party, began his speech with a quote from the Bible during a rally in Freedom Square.

“When Jesus was asked which is the greatest commandment in the law, He replied: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the first and most important commandment. The second one is similar to it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” The whole law is based on these two commandments,” he said.

Continuing his thought, Vardevanyan noted that humanism is the foundation of legality and justice.

“The law should serve everyone, and the law should dominate in any situation. The courts must be independent and fearless. The judicial and legal system should protect a person, not a specific government. It is the value system based on these commandments that is the formula for eradicating division in our society and returning to humanism,” he stressed.
