Wiretaps were submitted without expert analysis: Mkrtich Davtyan on the “18 Righteous” case

Attorney Mkrtich Davtyan, speaking at a press conference on the “18 Righteous” case, stated that in order to charge these individuals with planning an alleged terrorist act and seizure of power, a proper expert opinion would have been required.

“The situation is as follows: phone call recordings were brought to us and presented without any expert analysis. Bagrat Srbazan, who is not a lawyer, immediately raised the question at the very first preliminary hearing: ‘Where is your expert analysis, where is the basis for claiming that it is me speaking?'” Davtyan noted.

According to the attorney, had an expert analysis been commissioned, law enforcement would have faced the problem of substantiating the incriminating data.
