Civil Contract party head of Shenavan brutally assaults citizen

According to the outlet Ishkhanutyan, Mkhitar Mkhitaryan, the administrative head of Shenavan, a settlement within the Spitak community, and a Civil Contract party member, brutally assaulted Spitak resident Gor Akulyan. The latter was taken to hospital with bodily injuries. Media reported that the incident occurred on Saturday at one of Spitak’s gas stations.

“The citizen has injuries to his jaw, teeth, and eye,” one eyewitness told Ishkhanutyan. Media representatives attempted to obtain a comment from Gor Akulyan, but he indicated he was unable to speak. Media also called the Civil Contract community head, but he is not answering calls.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs told the outlet that it had received a report of the incident and forwarded it to the Investigative Committee. The preliminary investigative body noted that a criminal case has been opened, though there is no accused or detained person at this time.
