“The very first law we pass will ban Azerbaijanis from buying our land and homes:” Samvel Karapetyan

Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the “Strong Armenia” party and candidate for Prime Minister of Armenia, said at a meeting with members of the political force that the economic plans he has put forward will prove unworkable if the entry of 300,000 Azerbaijanis into Armenia cannot be prevented.

“We gathered to discuss and resolve the issue that concerns our people the most. Over these two months we have discussed all the economic programs we are offering our people. We all remember the 300,000 jobs, the substantial funds for improving demographic indicators, the exemption of small businesses from all taxes and inspections, and so on. People are already familiar with our programs, but we have a very serious problem. If we fail to prevent the entry of 300,000 Azerbaijanis into Armenia, as planned by Pashinyan and Aliyev, it will turn out that all our economic programs become unworkable, or that the majority of jobs go to Azerbaijanis,” Karapetyan said.

According to him, if they come to power, a “law on preventing the Safarov phenomenon” will be passed at the very first cabinet session.

“Under this law, Azerbaijanis will be banned from buying our land and our homes. That is to say, whatever we do, however hard we try to develop the economy, if we do not resolve the main problem of our country, none of it will have any value,” Karapetyan emphasized.
