Membership of Yerevan in the European Union would result in the loss of favorable terms of cooperation with Moscow, Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesman, has said.
“We have heard statements from the Armenian leadership to the effect that there is a very, very attractive and more than preferential price for Russian gas, for Russian energy resources. That is indeed the case. […] However, of course, such a regime is impossible for members of other integration blocs. There, the price category is entirely different, it is market-based. This is well known to our friends,” he said.
According to Peskov, the question of which path Armenia chooses for its further economic integration remains open.
