The Commonwealth of Independent States cannot ignore Yerevan’s stated plans for European integration or the EU summit on Ukraine held in Armenia. This was stated by Sergey Lebedev, Secretary General of the CIS, during a roundtable titled “35 Years of the Commonwealth of Independent States: Results, Goals, and Prospects.”
“Today we cannot ignore the EU summit on Ukraine recently held in Armenia, nor the position of the country’s leadership on Armenia’s accession to the EU. At the same time, Armenia remains a member of the CIS, the CSTO, and the EAEU, and continues to benefit from this membership,” he said.
