Azerbaijan highlights strategic role in the region at meeting with UN secretary-general

Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s foreign minister, met with António Guterres, the UN secretary-general. Among other topics, the sides discussed the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani media reports.

Azerbaijan’s strategic role in developing ties with Central Asia, as well as in the areas of transport and communications, was highlighted. The sides reviewed in detail the situation that has developed in the region since the war, and the new realities that have emerged in the post-conflict period.
