Alexey Overchuk, deputy chairman of the Russian government, stated that no separate meeting between Vladimir Putin and Mher Grigoryan, Armenia’s deputy prime minister, is planned on the sidelines of the EAEU summit in Astana, though a brief informal exchange cannot be ruled out.
It was previously reported that Nikol Pashinyan, Armenia’s prime minister, would not travel to Astana due to his participation in the election campaign, and that Grigoryan would represent the country at the summit. The move drew a negative reaction from Moscow, with Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizing that such an approach on Pashinyan’s part is systemic in nature.
