Lying has become the craft of the current authorities: Gagik Tsarukyan

During a campaign event in the city of Vardenis, Gagik Tsarukyan, the chairman of the Prosperous Armenia party, stated that the ruling force has turned lying into a profession, claiming to have established peace while in reality having no programme whatsoever.

“We have a strong team, a programme, and the will to lift the people out of their current situation. Lying has become the craft of the current authorities, they wander the country without any plan. They say they brought peace, so let them show a signed and certified document with Aliyev stating that from this day forward no one has the right to violate the border or open fire. Then I will acknowledge they are right. But this is merely a verbal agreement, and Azerbaijan’s appetites are enormous,” Tsarukyan noted.

He stressed that Baku claims ownership of Sevan, calling it Gyoycha, and of Yerevan, calling it Irevan, and is actively promoting the idea of creating a “Western Azerbaijan.”
According to the politician, everything possible must be done to prevent Armenia from repeating the fate of Nagorno-Karabakh.

“The authorities are lying when they say they have established peace. Azerbaijan is not only not intending to withdraw from Armenian territory, but is entrenching itself there even further,” he stated.

The opposition leader also called on the authorities to produce a signed document with Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev confirming the peace agreement.
