“In these difficult times, we must unite and strengthen our state together”: Catholicos of All Armenians

Garegin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Republic Day.

“From the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, we send our Patriarchal blessing and congratulations to all our people in the Homeland and in the Diaspora on the occasion of Republic Day.

In commemoration of the founding of the First Republic of Armenia, we recall the heroic battles of Sardarapat, Karakilisa, and Bash Aparan. Gevorg V, Catholicos of All Armenians, played a decisive role in these historic battles.

In a struggle for survival, the brave sons of our people, including the clergy of our Holy Church, prevailed and secured for future generations the rightful legacy to live independently and freely on their native land.

With that same unwavering spirit, dedicated sons of our nation have selflessly defended their homeland in the present era, many of them sacrificing their precious lives for the integrity of our state and for a secure and dignified future.

Today, as a nation, we bow our heads before our heroes and keep their blessed memory in our hearts. In these difficult times, faced with external and internal challenges, we must unite and together strengthen our state, and make the lives of all Armenians prosperous and beautiful.

May the Lord God richly bless and preserve our country and our Christ-loving people in Armenia and the Diaspora, today and always. Amen,” the Catholicos’s message reads.
