Russia to restrict imports of fruit and vegetable products from Armenia

Russia will restrict imports of fruit and vegetable products from Armenia starting May 30. This was announced by Rosselkhoznadzor.

Fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, herbs, and strawberries will fall under the temporary restrictions. The agency attributed the decision to an increase in violations and risks to Russia’s phytosanitary safety.

According to Rosselkhoznadzor, in 2026 quarantine organisms were detected 181 times during the import of Armenian fruit and vegetable products. The restrictions will remain in effect until a protocol for ensuring the safety of supplies is developed.
